Chantal Pillay is a lecturer at Le Cordon Bleu Institute New Zealand. She was born in Durban, South Africa and settled in New Zealand six years ago. She has extensive experience in teaching in culinary and hospitality management as well as IT and business management.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Education.
She developed a passion for education and working with young adults early in her career when working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds and finds it rewarding to see students overcome their challenges to become successful and confident professionals.
Chantal is currently involved in research related to WIL in the culinary and hospitality sector. She believes that engaging with industry partners helps her gain a better understanding of industry requirements of students and graduates which supports her teaching practice in helping students prepare for the workplace.
