Chantal Pillay is a lecturer at Le Cordon Bleu Institute New Zealand. She was born in Durban, South Africa and settled in New Zealand six years ago. She has extensive experience in teaching in culinary and hospitality management as well as IT and business management. She holds a Master’s Degree in Education.

Brenda received her PhD in 2012 from Curtin University in Perth Australia. Her main interest is in the area of ensuring that what we teach is relevant to the workplace, and is a big believer that education should lead to productive employment.

Karen leads NZCER’s research programme on vocational and professional education. She believes strongly in the rich learning potential of all kinds of settings, and has a particular interest in those outside of educational institutions.
